Orange Soda Jack-O-Lanterns

There is another new teacher meeting this afternoon and, after the success of the apples & caramel dip that I made for the September meeting, I have been appointed to bring the treats for the rest of the year.  Talk about pressure!  Whatever I make must be easy, inexpensive, and appeal to both guys and girls!  I think I may have risen to the challenge this month!  I found something similar here where children drew jack-o-lantern faces on orange soda bottles with a black marker as a Halloween party favor.  I decided to use faces created out of black vinyl and I absolutely love how they turned out!
You will need some bottles of orange soda.  I looked and looked for bottles of Orange Crush but I couldn't find them anywhere.  I eventually found bottles of Stewart's Orange 'n' Cream soda.  I removed all of the labels from the bottles then used some Goof Off to remove the glue residue and washed them thoroughly in hot soapy water.  After drying the bottles I added the vinyl jack-o-lantern faces.  I don't have a Cricut or a Silhouette so I had my friend Heidi make them for me.  Then I tied some green ribbon around the top to look like a stem and leaves.  Really easy!
I think these would be a really cute gift for neighbors as well as colleagues!  Give them a try!
